Sabrina Frerichs, PharmD, FSVHP

Dr. Frerichs is a Clinical Veterinary Pharmacist with Companion Pharmacy, where she advances clinical services, mentors students, and contributes to the growth of veterinary pharmacy as a profession.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Chemistry and Biology from Loyola University Maryland and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she built a strong foundation in sterile compounding through her work at Duke University Hospital. Her interest in veterinary pharmacy began during a clinical rotation at UNC, which led her to complete the Clinical Veterinary Pharmacy Internship program with distinction.

In 2024, Dr. Frerichs was selected as the inaugural resident of the UNC Veterinary Pharmacy Residency Program, the first program of its kind, developed in partnership with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and Vets Pets. She now works alongside Dr. Young to grow the clinical pharmacy program, support future residents, and expand the role of pharmacists in veterinary medicine.
