Disposal Precautions
Discarded gloves, needles, syringes, ampules, vials, and prefilled syringes
used in preparing sterile formulations pose a source of contamination and should
be disposed of properly. Receptacles that are leakproof, puncture proof, sealable,
and easily identifiable should be used. Needles and syringes should be placed
in "sharps" containers. They should not be clipped or recapped in order to prevent
aerosolization or accidental needle sticks. Excess solutions should be returned
to their original vial, an empty vial, or some other suitable closed container.
